OSJCT is a leading charity which provides care for older people in over 70 care homes and extra care schemes.
Accommodation at the home is provided in single rooms, all of which are on the ground floor.
This was followed by a light lunch and to get our residents in to the party spirit a choice of wine spritzer and beer shandy were on offer.
In the background our entertainer Jimmy Hughes sang some well known Christmas songs.
After lunch a Carol Service was held and residents joined in with traditional Christmas carols, the vicar also spent time talking about treasured memories and how important these are to us especially at Christmas time.
Finally Jimmy Hughes asked our residents to join him in singing Christmas songs.
One lady from Apple Trees has been an Elvis fan for many years and could not believe, at the age of 90, she had finally met her hero. Dementia Awareness Wee1(.pdf, 3.33 MB) Last updated on .The day started off with casino games and "Play Your Cards Right" which were expertly introdced by Graham Unwin (handperson from Eresby Hall) and his glamorous assistant Judith Arbon (Activity Co-ordinator from Skirbeck Court).Magician, Brian Hellyer, entertained our guests at their tables with his excellent magic tricks and balloon modelling, lunch was served which was hot dogs and burgers followed by doughnuts and washed down with milkshakes.Lunch was followed by a performance from Blue Savannah, who sang a wide selection of songs, she invited the residents to place requests which many did.Blue sang Abba, Rod Stewart and even Pavarotti tunes to name but a few.
