Thanks for the reply -- and apologies for what may be an ignorant follow-on, but what sequence of commands would perform that task (binding the datasource to the gridview)?I've set up the datasource and linked it to the gridview through the IDE, so I assume it's just the page load/initial rendering of the control that is performing that binding.So first using Find Control for Update Panel and then doing the Data Bind() solved my problem.
I am trying to display an error message in the edit section of a ASPx Grid View when a user has tried to submit invalid data.
I have been looking around and have found one blog that allows me to place an error message in red once it has filed validation by throwing a New Invalid Operation Exception.
In that article in am writing code on how to access every row and cell from Java Script, and also write some small operation using these row and cell.
Background: Writing Java Script is important in grid view where many operation is coming on dropdownlist clicking so needed to use Java Script to make is faster and user friendly.
